World © Geoff Wilkinson - All rights reserved

What a great day we have had! With two excellent craft card making workshop in the Gallery at 'Eightyfour', one this morning and one this afternoon. Everyone made at least one fab card that  they have taken home with them.

This morning everyone made this unusual and great Stepper card, pictured above, which was finished with lovely Sue Wilson dies. Using different coloured card you can see how it's possible to make the ribbon and daisies really stand out, whoever receives this card I am sure will be delighted.

In the afternoon session again using Sue Wilson dies, which we have in stock, the group produced these lovely Spring cards, again the colours really make these cards stand out from the crowd.

We had a great group today, some beginners, some  experienced but the level of skill didn't  matter everyone had a great time and produced their own lovely card. Those that stayed on for both  workshops of course went home with two cards. We worked at a pace that everyone felt comfortable and relaxed at, it was a lot of fun and of course there was the usual tea, cake and chat!

NEW PRODUCTS COMING IN..

the master, Phill Martin
Sue Wilson & cards
As you know we spent yesterday at the Craft, Hobby + Stitch show at the NEC near Birminham. What a day it was! We arrived around 9.30, in pouring rain, and thought we would whizz round and be out fairly quickly, we ended up leaving just before they chucked us out. It was a great day, we saw many of our current suppliers and met new ones. We chose the right day to go, not too many people but busy enough to make it 'buzzy'. We have ordered loads of new stuff, stamps, dies and lots more. We met the lovely Sue Wilson and we ordered even more of her great dies, she did sterling service demonstrating and answering questions all day with good humour and a smile. On the same stand  was Phill Martin the master of coordination, demonstrating his fab range of which we now have a good selection in stock.

On the other side of the hall was the PaperArtsy stand, Leandra and Mark as busy and welcoming as ever. We love their stuff and as you know we keep a large stock. We saw too many people to mention but we look forward to seeing them all again next year.

We didn't even have time for tea until late afternoon.

It was great day and as we left the sun even made an appearance, what more could you want. Next week we are expecting our new 'goodies',  as they start arriving we'll be tweeting, blogging and e.mailing to keep you up to date with what's new in stock.

We are really looking forward to Sundays card making workshops, the kettle will be on and the cake nicely sliced. There are just a few places left, just call the gallery on 0208 530 1244 to book a place.

We always do an early recce and find the stands we want to go back to. We've had conversations with Sissix, IndigoBlu, Wild Rose and Phill Martin of television fame  and many others and we'll be looking to bring you the best. NEW IN...

Although we do not have the biggest shop in the world we are really well stocked and do our best to be very competitive with price. We have had two deliveries this week both of dies. The first was of Sue Wilson's designs and the second from Sweet Dixie, that's nine exciting new designs for you to look over. There's a beer tankard for the man in your life, a floral heart frame, always useful and a wonderful owl perched on a branch. Owls are just so popular at the moment and theres many more designs. Plus we have a new system for displaying them, as you can see from the picture above, which shows the fab PaperArtsy stamps, we have simply hung them from a rail. It's great, it makes them really easy for you to browse through and look over, of course we are more than happy to take them off for closer inspection.

Don't forget our card making workshop next Sunday. There are two sessions with different cards being made each session. The first workshop is 11 till 12.30 and the second 1 till 2.30 and it's just £7.50 per workshop. Of course there will be the usual tea, cake and fun..
